For over 40 years, DEFONTAINE  has been making rolled and flash butt  welded rings for the automotive and aeronautics industries.


Thanks to its experience, DEFONTAINE can meet the various requirements issued by customers and can give proposals for the definition and optimization of rough parts.





The alloys used could change according to the activity field  and can be very costly, mainly due to the materials used to product them. In this case, the rolling and flash butt welding process  proves  to be particularly beneficial for this activity branch as it reduces the quantity of material used compared with ring-rolled products.

The rings are made from supplies of hot-rolled or extruded bar, or rough or pre-machined ring-rolled parts. We define our procurement taking into account the economic and technical parameters. Procurement control is key element to guarantee the homogeneity of the final products.  All operations from cutting to checking before delivery to the end customer are performed on our production sites enabling DEFONTAINE to keep total control over its output. The special processes to manufacture rings for aeronautic applications (flash butt welding, heat treatment and non-destructive testing) are meeting the NADCAP standards.
